Rae Sremmurd’s Slim Jxmmi Launches College Scholarship

Rae Sremmurd just released the triple album, SR3MM, and announced summer tour plans. But now, they’ve got even bigger news to share. Group member Slim Jxmmi announced the Jxm Scholarship Monday, which will grant $10,000 to 5 students. The recipients will be notified in July. Details on the application process are to follow. Drake Announces Tour with Migos

Drake is less than one month out from releasing his next album, Scorpion. He’ll spend the remainder of the year touring with Migos to support the record.  The “Aubrey and the Three Amigos Tour” kicks off July 26 in Salt Lake City and concludes November 17 with a two-night run in Atlanta. Childish Gambino Debuts At Number One

Childish Gambino’s “This Is America” debuts at number one on this week’s Billboard Hot 100 Singles chart. The song was bolstered by a provocative visual, which served as a commentary on race and gun violence.  The feat is notable for two reasons.  One, this is Childish Gambino’s first chart topper. Second, YouTube views of the video played a significant role in the song’s performance. But Billboard chart rules are changing to give more weight to paid streams. So, a scenario like this, in which an artist uses a popular video to top the charts, may be less likely. SZA Teases “Garden” Video Featuring Donald Glover, Mom

SZA, who has released a number of visuals for last year’s critically acclaimed Ctrl, teased the clip for “Garden” on Instagram Monday. The short clip features her mother, and the credits indicate that Donald Glover has a significant role in the video. SZA has a brief cameo in the aforementioned “This Is America” video. Dave Chappelle Announces Summer Tour with Jon Stewart

Legendary comedian Dave Chappelle will hit the road this summer with Jon Stewart.  The comedy duo will launch a 7-date run on June 11 in Boston. They’ll also hit Houston and El Paso.  This marks an incredibly busy year for Chappelle, who appeared on The Grammys in January and launched two new Netflix specials. Read more at SPIN.
