Writer and actress Natasha Rothwell will star in the forthcoming Netflix film Hometown.
The comedy feature was recently acquired by the streaming giant and will be produced by Rothwell, Tina Fey, and Eric Guiran. Little else is known about the film thus far, as all details and the logline are being kept under wraps.
Rothwell is best known for her role as Kelli on HBO’s Insecure, on which she’s a supervising producer. She also had a lauded supporting role in last year’s Love, Simon.
Rothwell currently has an overall deal with HBO, and she’ll star in a slew of new films including Wonder Woman 1984 and a live-action animated adaptation of the classic video game,Sonic the Hedgehog.

Issa Rae has joined the lineup for Clusterfest, a comedy, music, and podcast festival taking place in San Francisco June 21-23. Big Freedia, Leslie Jones, Sinbad, and Amanda Seales are also slated to appear.
The trailer is out for Mindy Kaling’s forthcoming film Late Night. The Amazon Studios film hits theaters on June 7. It was acquired at Sundance earlier this year and was written by Kaling.
