No Sesso Makes NYFW History – The Color Brief February 12
Los Angeles-based fashion brand No Sesso has made waves with its cutting-edge, genderless fashion during previous seasons. But this year, the brand is making history.
Creative director Pierre Davis is the first trans designer to earn a slot on the official New York Fashion Week schedule. Other trans designers have shown during Fashion Week, but not as part of the CFDA’s calendar.
No Sesso’s NYFW debut took place before a packed house at Pier59 Studios. Pose star, and Broadway legend, Billy Porter cheered loudly from the front row.
In Italian, the name No Sesso translates to “no sex” or “genderless”. No Sesso is part of an ongoing push to diversify fashion and improve representation of groups who aren’t traditionally considered high fashion consumers.
