The athleisure trend is more than just a trend. As the lines between work and personal life become even further blurred and the traditional workplace rules of yesteryear continue to disappear, athleisure has found an even more permanent place in fashion. While pulling off a strong athleisure look is primarily about comfort, your sense of style should not be sacrificed.
Joggers are an essential element of most athleisure looks. The key here is to pick a pair that's cut slim just like chinos. The pair I'm showcasing here take more style cues from harem pants than from your dad's old sweats. Your hoodies should be equally slim. In order to effectively transition between work activities and personal errands, your casual clothes need to evoke the same sense of stylish edge and tailoring as the clothes you used to wear to work. My look is topped off with a slightly oversized peacoat to contrast the slim cut of the other pieces and add some playful depth.
Attention to tailoring details is a must to pull off athleisure. Redefine the meaning of comfort by finding key pieces made of cotton blends that fit just as well as your best suit or dress shirt. Dressing down doesn't have to mean dressing without style.
