Night Runner

In the fitness community, there's a common belief that summer bodies are made in the winter.  And I wholeheartedly agree.

I'm not a firm believer in New Year's resolutions.  I feel that there's no better time than the present to start working toward your goals.  Why wait until after Jan. 1 to get moving? If you want it bad enough, you'll start the work now versus waiting another two weeks.  I've taken the month of December to do that just that.  But even when it comes to fighting the good fight against fat, you have to do it in style.

I'm a big fan of running tights.  I know that hardcore runners aren't big on wearing shorts over their tights, but I prefer to leave a little to the imagination.  And I like the layering effect they add to a look.  Tights are functional support for your workout and, when worn in a contrast color, can complement the style of your overall outfit.

A long sleeve thermal top hits every touchpoint: slim fitting, flattering, and functional.  And whether you're out for a quick nightly jog or walking to the gym on a brisk night, a quilted vest always adds some much needed cold weather protection.

In terms of color palette, gray and black always work wonders for complementing your physique, but you can always mix it up with any piece.  I've only chosen to add in a bright accent of yellow on the soles of my shoes.

If one of your goals is to strive toward better fitness in the new year, don't delay.  And don't leave your style behind when you head to the gym!
