Simple Spring

As it gets warmer, I always get concerned about how to keep some sense of strong style with less layers.  Women have an endless stream of options when it comes to the hot months, but men seem to be left with few options to stay comfortable in the heat while maintaining their cool.

You can lead a simple Spring in style.  Despite the recent public disdain for men in shorts, I am a fan of shorts as long as they're styled appropriately.  Your shorts should be tailored-they hit your leg just above the knee, they're cut slim like your favorite chinos but not too tight, and they're in soft Spring colors like salmon or olive green.  Pair them back to lightweight sweaters or long-sleeve knits to add some variation to your look.  This Topman sweater, with its pocket detail and marled design, is a novelty piece that takes what could be a basic look to the next level.

Don't phone it in for the warm days.  Avoid the Spring doldrums and keep your looks interesting by infusing color, tailoring, and novelty.
